Frequently
Asked Questions
Question:
Anyone can decorate a room, what
makes working with a certified interior
designer different?
Answer:
While anyone can put together
decor for a room, most times the end
result can be hodgepodge and pieced
together, creating an atmosphere that
someone will not be truly happy with.
This can result in wasted time and money
and out right frustration. Working with
a schooled designer, can make the
process fun, and rewarding. From the
concept to completion, the process is
streamlined, taking the "work" out of
the experience. The client can then
focus on what they want and the
designer can figure out the best way
to get there. Once the project is
completed, the room or rooms being
decorated should give the client a
feeling of satisfaction, allowing
them to truly enjoy the space and
the process.
Question:
What is the difference
between working with a national
department store for the design
services, or working with a local
interior
design firm?
Answer:
While the national
stores have many great services and
products for the consumer, then tend to
focus on their department's protocal
rather than the unique needs and wishes
of the client. Each individual is
diffferent, and thus the
designs and decor for that client should
reflect that. Also, designers are able
to work with many lines of fabrics and
products, searching and seeking out the
very best in value and product for the
client. Typically department stores will
only provide a selection from the lines
that they themselves carry.
Question:
What about cost? Isn't
working with a designer much more
expensive?
Answer:
Well, it really depends on
what the client is looking for. Designer
Interiors of Ballston will do their very
best to provide a creation that is both
appropriate and cost effective for the
client.
Question:
How long does the process
take?
Answer:
Working with a designer can
vary as far as the time it takes to
complete a project. Obviously the size
of the project, the products being
used and their availability are just one
of many factors that can effect the time
it takes. After working with a client to
provide them with a design that suits
them, we give a reasonable time estimate
that corresponds to the the work being
done.
Communication is key and
Designer Interiors will do our very best
to work within time frame. You will not
be just a number, and get lost in the
paperwork!.
Question:
So I want to work with
Designer Interiors....how does that
process work?
Answer:
First give us a call! Second, (the
fun part!) we will chat a bit on the
phone and set up a time to meet and
review your requests. This meeting is
where we go over ideas, and explore all
the possibilities!. Then the real work
on our part begins. Heading back to the
office to customize and create an
amazingly unique design that works for
you!Once that is completed we set up a
time to get together to go review everything...
then make any
adjustments. Once the proposed design
is agreed upon, we start to work on the
completion.
